New Haven Man Sentenced For Sex Crime: Feds
Heriberto Batiz will serve additional prison time.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A former New Haven and New Britain man has been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment for violating the conditions of his federal supervised release, according to a statement from prosecutors. Heriberto Batiz, 55, was originally sentenced in 2004 to ten years in prison for crack cocaine trafficking.
He was released from prison in July 2011. While Batiz was on supervised release, he repeatedly sexually abused an 11-year-old girl, according to prosecutors.
Batiz was convicted in state court of two counts of illegal sexual contact with a minor. In October 2016, he was sentenced to consecutive sentences of seven years in prison, followed by five years of special parole. He is currently in state custody.
