New Haven Man Stole 2 Cars From Local Business: Milford PD

Police say the accused's DNA to help them make an arrest.

MILFORD, CT — A New Haven man is accused of breaking into a local business and stealing two cars, Milford Police said. On Sept. 10, police arrested Johnny Demps, 20, of Hallock Avenue in New Haven, on an arrest warrant, police said.

He is accused of breaking into an auto wholesale garage in Milford on January 20, 2017 and stealing keys to two vehicles in the lot and then stealing the vehicles from the lot, which were later recovered, police said.

Demps' DNA was found in the stolen vehicles which led to his arrest via a warrant, police said.

He is charged with second-degree larceny and held in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
