New Haven Man Stole Former Roommate’s iPad, MacBook During Burglary: West Haven Police
Police tracked the suspect by using a feature on the MacBook that tells its location.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of stealing his former roommate’s iPad and MacBook during a Monday morning burglary, according to West Haven Police. At about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, police responded to an Elm Street address for a burglary complaint.
Officers learned an iPad and MacBook were taken. Arriving detectives discovered fingerprint impressions on a window sill, according to police.
Police said detectives activated a feature on the MacBook that tells its location. Detectives traced the MacBook in real time to a library in New Haven.

Detectives found Anthony Rivera, 22, of New Haven, a former roommate of the complainant, in possession of the stolen items, according to police.
Police said that the fingerprint found on the window sill matched Rivera’s fingerprint. Rivera was charged with burglary and larceny and was held on bond, according to police.
