New Haven Men, 20 and 19, Charged With Murder In 2023 Fatal Shooting: NHPD
New Haven resident Ramon Yates, 25, was gunned down on the night of March 15, 2023 and died two days later at Yale New Haven Hospital.
NEW HAVEN, CT — On a cold mid-March night in 2023, multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting led cops to Dixwell Avenue and West Hazel Street, where they found gunshot victim 25-year-old Ramon Yates.
Rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, the New Haven man was dead from his gunshot-wound injuries.
The investigation was assigned to Detective Michael Haines of the New Haven Police Department's Major Crimes Unit, who developed probable cause to arrest two young men, Talin Jackson, 20, and Devin Gardner, 19, both of New Haven.

Taken into custody last Saturday, both were charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and carrying apistol without a permit.
Their bonds were set at $2,000,000.
