New Haven Nightclub Fined, Liquor License Suspended: State Officials

Rize Night Club on Chapel Street pays $2,000 fine and the facility's liquor permit will be suspended one day.

NEW HAVEN — A nightclub in the city has been fined and had its liquor permit suspended by the state for selling liquor to minors, among other charges.

According to the State of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Commission, the Rize Night Club, located at 956 Chapel St., New Haven, has already paid a $2,000 fine.

In addition, the club was suspended from selling liquor on Thursday, May 19, according to the state.

The Rize Night Club was fined and suspended for selling or delivery of alcohol to minors, which is a misdemeanor for permittees.

The club was also cited for violating state statutes regarding the legal operation of juice bars or utilizing the facility as a juice bar where minors often congregate.
