A patient fractured a femur during a fall.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The Mary Wade Home in New Haven was fined $3,060 after a patient had a falling episode.

A patient who needed at least two staff members for care fell after a single nurse aide tried to roll the resident over on a bed, according to the Connecticut Health Investigation Team.

The resident sustained a right femur fracture. An administrator for the Mary Wade Home said staff were re-trained on proper procedures and proper disciplinary and corrective action was taken.
