New Haven Police Arrest Man Charged with Fatal Stabbing
Detectives secured an arrest warrant for the man, who is suspected of stabbing and killing another man.

NEW HAVEN, CT – A local man was arrested by police Monday and charged with fatally stabbing another man.
Carlos Berrios, 42, is suspected of murdering James Edward Foley, 50, on Sunday, according to a release. Police responded close to 5:30 a.m. that morning to reports of a man being stabbed inside an apartment on Saltonstall Avenue.
Foley was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he died about five hours later from stab-wounds to his chest and upper body. The victim lived on State Street in New Haven.

The suspect, Berrios, is believed to be the boyfriend of the victim’s estranged wife. The stabbing had happened in her apartment.
Inconsistencies in the stories of those involved and evidence from the scene led the detectives toward the arrest. Berrios was arrested close to 4 p.m.
