ARMED ROBBERY

Police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery of a 26-year-old Eastern Street resident early Tuesday morning, police said.

The man told the officers he was on his way home from the 7-11 on Eastern Street when he was passed twice by a slowly moving newer, large, blue GMC SUV with three men inside. According to police, he was suspicious and waited for the SUV to disappear from his sight before he continued.

The SUV reappeared and sped toward him. The front and rear seat passengers got out and both of them had shotguns, police said.

The victim told police he stood still and raised his hands. The armed men robbed the victim of five dollars and change and his house key and fled in the SUV, police said. The victim wasn’t harmed.

The only description of the robbers and get-away driver was that the three were masked African-American men.
