New Haven Police Detectives Raise Money For Survivors Of Homicide
The department's Detective Bureau raised money during the holidays to help two families.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The New Haven Police Department Detective Bureau, which held a raffle at its annual holiday party last month, raised funds to assist two families who are survivors of homicides, the bureau announced.
Detectives raised enough money to donate $300 each to the families of homicide victims Dwaneia Turner and Alessia Mesquita.
"I was emotional," said New Haven Police Victim Advocate, Officer Nancy Jordan, about presenting the families with the checks. "It was very gratifying to be able to bring a little bit of joy to these families who have been through so much."
