New Haven Police Investigate Shooting
Police are investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a shooting from this past weekend. A 34-year-old man arrived at Yale New Haven Hospital just before 6 a.m. Sunday with a gunshot wound to the hand.
The man told police that he drove himself to the hospital after he was shot during a physical struggle with a would-be robber on Beers Street.
Detectives responded to the hospital and canvassed the neighborhood. Investigators believe prior to the shooting, the man had been driving in the area in the early morning hours as he sought to purchase marijuana, according to a police statement.
