New Haven Police Investigating Sunday Night Shooting Of NY Man
Around 8 p.m., 911 calls came in about a shooting on Sherman Avenue where a 56-year-old was struck by gunfire, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —In a Sunday night Sherman Avenue shooting, a 56-year-old New York man struck by gunfire, police said.
It was around 8 p.m. on Sherman between Dorman and Bassett streets, police got 911 calls about a person being shot, according to New Haven police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.
The man was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Shumway said.

Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
