New Haven Police Make Shooting Arrest
A city man was arrested after a December shooting, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Investigators made an arrest in a Dec. 19 shooting following a short chase, according to police.
A gunshot victim drove to the Fair Haven police substation after he was shot. He was transported to a hospital and several crime scenes were secured while police investigated, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ricardo Ramos, 28, of New Haven and began a search for his whereabouts. They attempted to apprehend him as he left a Fair Haven residence Jan. 3.

Ramos drove a short distance, jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot. He was quickly taken into custody. Ramos' vehicle collided with another and caused some minor damage. Police also seized a handgun, Hartman said.

· Criminal possession of a firearm.
· Carrying a pistol without a permit.
· Criminal attempt assault first degree.
· Reckless endangerment first degree.
· Criminal possession of a firearm.
· Weapon in a motor vehicle.
· Interfering with an officer.
· Reckless endangerment second degree.
· Evading responsibility.
· No motor vehicle insurance.
· Failure to obey officer’s signal.
· No operator’s license
· Stop sign violation (2 counts).
Total bond was set at $650,000.
