3 Firefighters Hospitalized In New Haven Blaze

A second alarm fire broke out at a sushi restaurant Wednesday morning.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A fire broke out at Kumo Sushi Hibachi Restaurant Wednesday morning, The New Haven Register reported. Three firefighters were hospitalized in the incident.

NBC reported that two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and one sustained cuts. The injuries were not life-threatening.

Crews responded to the call before 6 a.m. at the 7 Elm St. building.

Residents in the attached four-story building were able to escape. The fire was extinguished by 6:30 a.m.
