NH Schools Employee Accused Of Kicking Girl With Special Needs
A paraprofessional has resigned following allegations that she kicked a 5-year-old girl with special needs.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven Public School paraprofessional resigned following allegations that she kicked a 5-year-old student who has Down Syndrome, according to WTNH. The incident occurred in March at Nathan Hale School.
A witness said that the paraprofessional kicked the girl while she was sitting on the ground. WTNH obtained video footage of the incident, in which it appears that the woman kicks and pushes the girl with her foot.

The girl's mother, Luvena Jones, said she was upset that the woman was able to resign without a blemish to her record. However, her attorney said that the state Department of Children and Families has investigated the individual before.

“The paraprofessional involved in the incident at Nathan Hale School is no longer an employee of the New Haven Public Schools,” said Chief Operating Officer Michael Pinto, according to the New Haven Register.
