New Haven Superintendent Signs Separation Agreement

NEW HAVEN, CT — Superintendent of Schools Carol Birks has signed a separation agreement with the Board of Education, The New Haven Register reported. Assistant Superintendent Ilene Tracey is anticipated to be named interim superintendent.

Birks will be paid for the remaining eight months of her contract. She arrived in the district amid controversy in March 2018, with some residents saying that she was hired in a secretive process, according to The Register.
