New Haven Teacher Wins $30K Lottery Prize Twice In A Month
It's been a good month for Rochelle Villano.
NEW HAVEN, CT — June's been pretty good for Rochelle Villano, a New Haven teacher who lives in East Haven. Villano has won the top $30,000 prize on the 30X Cash game twice in the same month, according to Connecticut Lottery.
She claimed the first prize on June 3, then the second one Wednesday.
Villano, who just finished her 24th year of teaching in New Haven, was ecstatic about her second $30,000 win. "I don't get paid in the summer, so this (prize) is perfect!" Villano told CT Lottery.

Villano purchased both top prize-winning tickets at Shell Food Mart at 1183 Townsend Ave., New Haven. The retailer will receive a $300 bonus for each winning ticket from the CT Lottery.
The overall odds of winning a 30X Cash prize are 1 in 3.53. Of the 113 top prizes in the game's sixth edition, 110 remain to be claimed, according to CT Lottery.
