New Haven Teen Arrested for Scooter Robbery
Officers caught the suspect who fled on the scooter then on foot.

New Haven, Ct- A 17-year-old local teen was arrested after he assaulted a man for his scooter, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the McDonald's on lower Whalley Avenue for a report of a man who was assaulted by a group of teens. Police got a description of one of the teens who was trying to flee on the victim's scooter, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

Officer Javier Montalvo spotted a suspect on a blue scooter on Hudson Street.
The suspect ditched the scooter and ran on foot. Officer Thomas Glynn recognized the teen and ordered him to stop and that he knew who he was, Hartman said.

Glyn chased the teen on foot and into the waiting handcuffs of officers Eric Eisenhard and Nicholas Katz at Goffe and Crescent Streets.
The 62-year-old victim told police he was thrown to the ground by three teen boys and was kicked in the head.
He positively identified the teen who ran from police.
The teen was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, third-degree assault, engaging police in a pursuit and interfering with police. His criminal history includes a robbery, larceny, car theft and assault that occurred when he was 13.
