New Haven Woman, 26, Shot Monday Night In Newhallville: Police
The woman, shot on Shelton Avenue between Starr and Hazel streets, was listed in stable condition at Yale New Haven Hospital, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 26-year-old New Haven woman was shot on Shelton Avenue Monday night, police said.
Police got a Shotspotter alert for gunfire, and 911 calls saying a person had been shot, at 9:20 p.m., according to police spokesperson Scott Shumway. The nighttime shooting was on Shelton between Starr and Hazel streets, Shumway said.
The woman was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and was listed in stable condition, Shumway said.

The New Haven Police Department Bureau of Identification responded to the scene and collected ballistic evidence, he said, adding that detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
