New Haven's 1st Homicide Victim Of Year Identified By Police
Brian Faulks, 33, of New Haven, was fatally shot on Spring Street in the pre-dawn hours Thursday, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Brian Faulks, 33, of New Haven is the city's first homicide victim of the year, police said Friday.
The fatal shooting happened Thursday on Spring Street, between Dewitt and Button streets, New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.
As reported, it was around 3:30 in the morning when a man, now known to be Faulks, was dropped off by in a private car at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was treated for life-threatening injuries and later was pronounced dead, Shumway said Thursday

Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
