"My goal is to deliver a durable, fair, and consistent playing surface that can withstand high daily usage and still present as a credible venue for both recreational and competitive golf.
Hosting collegiate golfers is a testament to Ian and our team, and a strong way to showcase our course,” said Golf Course Superintendent Kyle Lockery.

As noted by Golf Digest, Alling Memorial is “very quirky but real fun,” a characterization that reflects the course’s engaging layout and strategic shot values. The Spring Invitational builds on that reputation by introducing collegiate-level competition, further demonstrating that the
course can support high-level play while remaining accessible to the public.

"Hosting collegiate players gives competitive golfers a clear view of the course conditions and overall experience we are building at Alling. It is a strong test of the layout and a great
opportunity to showcase the level of play here," said Golf Professional Ian Reynolds.

Course-side dining is available at The Cove Bar and Grill at Alling Golf Club, offering a restaurant experience for players and visitors.

By hosting this event, Alling Memorial Golf Club continues to position itself as a reliable venue for competitive golf in the region. Collegiate tournaments strengthen relationships with area programs, increase visibility, and demonstrate that a public course can deliver a consistent, tournament-ready experience while remaining accessible to the broader community.
