North Branford Man, 22, Killed In New Haven Crash Saturday Night: PD

New Haven police said Raymond Sobask was driving a motorcycle when it and another vehicle were involved in a crash near the I-91 on-ramp.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A North Branford motorcyclist was killed Saturday night in a crash on Middletown Avenue, police said. Raymond Sobask, 22, was found unresponsive in the roadway after a 10:30 p.m. crash on Middletown Avenue, between Front Street and the Interstate 91 ramp, according to police spokesperson Scott Shumway. Sobask was pronounced deceased on scene, he said.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Shumway said.

The New Haven Police Crash Team responded to the scene and are leading the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

According to his Facebook page, Sobask was member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 777. Sobask was a North Branford High School alum and athlete who played football and lacrosse, according to Facebook posts.
