Notre Dame Announces Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Nicholas Ribeiro '22 Named Valedictorian; Mark MacDaniel Æ22 Named Salutatorian

WEST HAVEN, CT – Notre Dame High School President Robert F. Curis is pleased to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2022. This year, Nicholas Ribeiro of Prospect was named Valedictorian, and Mark MacDaniel of Derby was named Salutatorian.
Both Nicholas and Mark are involved members of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Interact Club. They are also both Peer Counselors and Writing Center Tutors at Notre Dame. Nicholas is a part of the Chess Club, Math Club, BRO, and Spanish Honor Society. Nicholas has received various awards such as the Spanish Seal of Bi-literacy, the Yale Book Award, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute award for Excellence in Math and Science, and was a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. Mark was an involved member of Team ND, the Math Team, and was inducted into the Latin Honor Society. Mark was awarded the Harvard University Club of Southern Connecticut Book Award along with the General David Humpreys Branch of the Sons of the American Revolution award.
The Valedictorian and Salutatorian’s success carried over to their varsity athletic experiences, as Nicholas was the captain of the Soccer team and a member of Outdoor track. Mark ran Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track.

Upon graduation, Nicholas will be attending Yale University and Mark will be attending the University of Connecticut. Nicholas will be studying Applied Mathematics and Mark will be studying Pre-Med/Chemistry.
Notre Dame High School Graduation for the Class of 2022 will be held on May 22 at 10:00am.
