HAMDEN, CT — (Contributed): On July 23, 2023, at 10:04 p.m., Annette went to be with Jesus. Born Antoinette Maria Mormile- she was born on December 26, 1929, but the Doctor didn't sign her birth record until January 1, 1930, making that day her legal birthday!
She was born at New Haven Hospital to Italian immigrant parents, and lived at 17 Wooster Place, in New Haven. She attended grammar school first at the former Convent on Greene Street, until the opening of St. Michaels School, also on Greene Street, being in their very first graduating class of 1943, and was the class valedictorian.
From St. Michael's school, she went on to Hillhouse High school, graduating in 1947, and began her training at the Grace New Haven Hospital School of Nursing in the fall of 1947, becoming a Registered Nurse upon graduating in June of 1950. She then started her Nursing career at Grace New Haven Hospital (which would later become Yale New Haven Hospital) in the Operating room, and later as a labor and delivery nurse, and finally on to Private Duty Nursing.

She loved nursing in all forms, but especially loved the O.R. Her decision to become a nurse came at the early age of 7, when one of the Sisters who taught her became ill and had to be admitted to the Hospital. She asked her father to bring her to see the ailing Nun, and told him upon leaving the Hospital that she wanted to become a Nurse.
Besides her parents, Annette was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Walter, and a son Robert, as well as her brother Patrick Mormile, and sister Carmel DeLieto, and two other siblings that died as children before she was born; a sister Irene, and a brother Luigi.
