Obituary: Carlos Luis Maldonado, 81, of New Haven
A Yankees fan, he worked at Yale-New Haven Hospital for 30 years, and was a coach and sponsor of New Haven Hispanic softball leagues.

Carlos Luis Maldonado, 81, of New Haven, Connecticut passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 in the comfort of his home with his lovely family and devoted wife of 47 years Carmen Maldonado by his side.
Carlos was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on March 12, 1942 to the late Maria Luisa Garcia and Carlos Maldonado Sr. Carlos left Puerto Rico as a young man and worked at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a custodian for 30 years until he retired.

Carlos was a devoted Christian and loved to read, sing, and share the bible scriptures with his loving family, he was a huge fan of the Yankees, and he loved being around his kids and grandchildren the most.
Carlos also coached and sponsored numerous softball teams with the New Haven Hispanic softball leagues.

In addition to Carmen, his memories will be cherished by his children Tina, Vanessa, Crystal, Carmen, and Stephanie and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Raul Rosado and Milagros Miranda. Carlos is also survived by his siblings Lillian, Haydee, Luis Enrique, Elvin, Junior, Miguel, William, and Henry.
All who knew him will remember him as an extraordinary man and will be missed, but never forgotten.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday June 17, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Iglesia Christiana Estrella Resplandeciente Jacob, 185 Chapel Street, New Haven, followed by a church service at 11:00 AM.
