Obituary: Garrett Michael Brown, 34, of New Haven
An accomplished 3-sport athlete, and a standout football player, he worked for Amtrak, and enjoyed coaching young football athletes.

Garrett Michael Brown, age 34, of New Haven, Connecticut passed away suddenly on June 13, 2023. He is survived by Jenna (Wife), Maverick (Son 2.5yr), Oakley (Daughter 8m), Michael (Father), Sheree (Mother), Chelsy (Sister), Remi (Niece) Dorothy E. McLean (Grandmother) and Leslie Stoddard (Mother-in-law). Garrett was predeceased by his grandfather Palmer McLean Sr., Grandmother Ann Brown and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Garrett was born on September 20, 1988 to parents Michael and Sheree Brown in New Haven, CT.
After Garrett graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory High School he was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota where he was a star football player. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science, Garrett had the opportunity to play pro football with the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Diego Chargers. He started his first job at Amtrak as a conductor, kickstarting a 10 year career. In 2012, Garrett met Jenna in San Diego, CA. Garrett and Jenna went on to marry and have two children, Maverick William and Oakley Elise. Garrett was a three sport athlete. He enjoyed football, hockey and lacrosse. In his free time, Garrett enjoyed coaching young football athletes and spending time with family and friends. Garrett most enjoyed hosting family and friend gatherings and manning the grill.

Family and friends may call at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven on Wednesday, June 21st 4:00-8:00pm. A Parlor Service will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at 10:00 AM. Please join the family for a repass to celebrate the life of Garrett Brown at the Brown family home at 2660 Long Hill Rd. Guilford, CT following the funeral services on Thursday, June 22nd.
