Obituary: John L. Ardito, 88, of New Haven

John L. Ardito, 88, of New Haven passed away June 19, 2022. He was born September 6, 1933, in New Haven to Nunzio and Philomena “Fannie” (Aitro) Ardito. John was the loving husband of Lucy (Esposito) Ardito for 62 wonderful years. Together they had three sons; John J. Ardito (Leonora) of Florida, Ronald J. Ardito (Dina) of New Haven and Thomas J. Ardito (Joann) of Branford. He is also survived by five grandchildren, John M. Ardito (Stephanie), Deanna Julson (Steven), Zachary F. Ardito (Jamie), Caroline L. Ardito and Ronald S. Ardito along with seven great grandchildren and two sisters, Ann Laspino of Meriden and Dolores Berube (Joseph) of North Haven.

John is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Louise Perrotti, Connie Turro, Gaetano Ardito, Charles Ardito, Ernest Ardito, Anthony Ardito and Peter Ardito.

His family was always John’s priority and he loved having everyone together. He graduated from Quinnipiac College in 1957 and was employed for almost 40 years with the Internal Revenue Service, where John finished his career as a payroll tax specialist on large corporate cases. He loved bowling, golfing, and ballroom dancing. Upon retirement, John and his wife enjoyed traveling to Italy, Bermuda, Vermont, Texas, Florida, San Francisco, and many other places.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT 06512. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, June 24, at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Bernadette, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven, CT 06512, with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
