Obituary: Jordan R. Diana, 36; Formerly Of North Haven

Jordan participated in many local 5K runs for charity and ran with a passion.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): On Friday, December 8, 2023 Jordan Diana sadly passed away at his home in New Haven. Jordan was born on December 14, 1986, he was the son of Richard and Kristine Diana. He attended North Haven High School, graduated from Gateway Community College and received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University.

Jordan enjoyed being with his family more than anything else, especially golfing with his Dad, his late grandfather, Bernie Diana, and Uncle, Scott. Jordan spent many of his summer days at his Gramma Diana’s pool with his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was an avid NY Yankees fan; highlights include having a picture taken with Jeter before a Baltimore Orioles game (seen on his Facebook page) and attending many Yankees playoff and World Series games.

In the winter, Jordan enjoyed snowboarding, attending Quinnipiac Hockey games, and watching UCONN Basketball.

Jordan participated in many local 5K runs for charity and ran with a passion. He also enjoyed trips to the Casino where he loved playing in live poker tournaments.

Jordan suffered from schizophrenia for most of his adult life, which ultimately was the cause of his death. He had strong family, community and medical support; thus, he was able to sustain a relatively normal life. He lived independently at Bella Vista Apartments with his cat, Bobster.

Jordan developed a host of friendly relationships with people young and old, from interesting backgrounds and cultures and had many friends in his support groups.

Jordan was predeceased by his grandparents, William “Pop-pop” Peterson, Katherina “Oma” Peterson and Bernard “Grampa” Diana. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Colby and her fiancé, Ted as well as his Gramma Diana and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Special thanks to all the health care providers who provided support to Jordan including YNHH Department of Psychiatry, Fellowship Place and Continuum of Care. Rich, Kris and Colby would like to give heartfelt thanks to our supportive circle of friends and family who were always with us every step of the way in our lives.

Jordan’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment is All Saints Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jordan’s memory to Fellowship Place, 441 Elm St, New Haven, CT 06511.
