Obituary: Lois Flynn 81, of New Haven

Known for glamour, always with her hair, nails, and makeup done to perfection, she loved having family over for Sunday sauce and meatballs.

Lois Flynn 81, wife of the late Martin Flynn of New Haven died peacefully on April 10, 2022. Lois was born in New Haven on February 15, 1941 to the late Frank and Mary Onofrio.

Lois Flynn 81, wife of the late Martin Flynn of New Haven died peacefully on April 10, 2022. Lois was born in New Haven on February 15, 1941 to the late Frank and Mary Onofrio.

Lois was employed for many years at the Hospital of St. Raphael as Volunteer Services assistant. She enjoyed traveling with Marty to their favorite vacation spots of Cancun and St. Maarten, as well as family vacations with her grandchildren. Lois loved to have her family over for Sunday sauce and meatballs. She was known by all for her glamour, and always seen with her hair, nails, and make up done to perfection. Lois looked forward to spending time with her dear friends Dolores, Pat, Camille, Cathy, and her cousin Dolly. She loved her weekly lunches and shopping trips with her best friend from high school, Jane. During her years at Mariners Point she enjoyed her time with her companion Jerry.

Lois is survived by her loving daughter Dorene (Paul) Gambardella of Killingworth, son Martin (Gail) Flynn Jr. of Texas; Grandchildren Martin Flynn III, Paul Gambardella III, Eric (Brittany) Gambardella, Great granddaughter Sophia, her niece Kathleen, nephews Edward and Robert, and many loving cousins

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated and caring staff at the Grimes Center, Connecticut Outpatient Hospice, and all the wonderful aides who have helped her over the years. A special thank you to Sharmane and Angie, who cared for her during her most trying time.
