New Haven Officer Shoots Knife-Wielding Suspect: PD
The incident occurred Tuesday morning, and State Police are investigating.

NEW HAVEN, CT – State Police are investigating after a New Haven Police officer shot a man who lunged at him with a knife, police said.
New Haven Police and fire members responded to Ferry Street Tuesday around 10:09 a.m. on a report of a disturbance, according to State Police.
The suspect, identified as Roberto Orsini-Rodriguez, 38, was located in the first floor lobby of the building and charged at a New Haven officer with a knife, according to a release from State Police. An officer fired several shots that hit Orsini-Rodriguez.

Both the officer and Orsini-Rodriguez were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The officer was transported as a precaution.
The officer's identity hasn't been released.
