NEW HAVEN, CT — A man with one arm reportedly stabbed a victim after he challenged him to a fight, according to police.
Police were dispatched to the area of 370 Mansfield Street shortly before 5 p.m. July 1 and were told that a man named "Mondo" committed the stabbing and that he had one arm, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
Officer David Santiago located a man that matched the description who tried to leave through the back door of the building. He was detained and claimed he didn't do anything.

A 43-year-old man sustained a non-life threatening abdominal wound, Hartman said. The victim told police that he was visiting a friend when "Mondo" walked in and made himself at home. Mondo was asked to leave by the victim's friend and he begrudgingly did so.
The victim told police he left soon after and that Mondo challenged him to a fight in the hallway, which is where the stabbing occurred, Hartman said.
