NEW HAVEN, CT — A Bridgeport man was robbed and roughed up after his online date turned out to be two male robbers.

The 19-year-old traveled to Elizabeth Street to meet a woman he met on the Kik app. He'd never met her in person and only knew her as "Sunshine," said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

The two robbers had handguns and forced him into the back of a Ford Explorer before heading to Hamden. The robbers picked up an acquaintance who was also armed.
