'Pay-Per-Pee' Sign Nets New Haven Restaurant Owner Fine

A restaurant owner got tired of dogs urinating on his potted plant, but he ended up being the one fined.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven restaurant owner was fined after he got tired of dogs peeing on a potted plant outside his restaurant and posted a sign.

Duc's Place owner Duc Nguyen posted a sign asking dog owners to pay in exchange for the privileged of canines using the flower pot to relieve themselves, according to the New Haven Independent.

The city's public works department fined Nguyen $250 for "creating a public nuisance." Nguyen said he plans to appeal the ticket and that the real public nuisance is dog owners who allow their pets to relieve themselves wherever they please.
