Pedestrian Struck By Car Boards Bus To East Haven, Later Dies: New Haven Police

The pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver and ended up boarding a bus to East Haven and later died, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man who was struck by a car in New Haven boarded a bus and later died as a result of his injuries, according to police.

On Feb. 13, East Haven police began an investigation into a suspicious death that was reported to them by Yale-New Haven Hospital. They determined that Dominic Landolfi, of New Haven, arrived in East Haven via a CT Transit bus on Feb. 11.

Upon arriving in East Haven, he required medical attention and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he died as a result of his injuries.

"Based on the initial investigation, it appears Landolfi was struck by a vehicle prior on Forbes Avenue in New Haven prior to boarding the bus; the vehicle left the scene and has not yet been located. There were no calls to the New Haven Police Department regarding this incident," police said.

On February 18, the case was assigned to the Accident Reconstruction Team, and they are actively investigating.
