Photos: Suspect In New Haven Yale Bowl Liquor Store Robbery, Shooting

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the person they say is the suspect in the shooting at Yale Bowl Liquor Store where a clerk from Wallingford was injured. They provided surveillance photos of the suspect to Patch.

At around 6:30 p.m., last Saturday, New Haven police got a 911 call regarding a person shot at 85 Derby Ave., site of the package store, according to police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.

When cops got there, they found the clerk, a 53-year-old Wallingford man, had been shot, Shumway said. Rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, he was treated for "serious injuries" and remains in stable condition, he said.

Shumway said the police department's Bureau of Identification "recovered ballistic evidence and surveillance footage." Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.

Police now ask that anyone with information on the person in the photographs, or who has information regarding robbery and shooting, is asked to contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
