NEW HAVEN, CT —Police are investigating what they're calling a "suspicious death" of an infant on Farren Avenue in New Haven Wednesday.
New Haven police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell said around noon, cops were called to the Fair Haven section of the city for an "unresponsive infant." When they got there they found a 10-month-old "not breathing," Dell said, adding "efforts to revive the child were unsuccessful." Rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, the baby was pronounced deceased a short time later, Dell said.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Bureau of Identification arrived on the scene
to initiate an investigation into the suspicious death of the infant, Dell said. The cause of the infant's death is currently unknown, and an investigation and autopsy will be conducted in the
coming days to determine the cause and manner of death, she said.
