Popular Restaurant To Open Second Location In New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT — El Segundo will be opening a second location in New Haven Aug. 25 in The Audubon building at 367 Orange St. The first location of the restaurant opened in 2016 in South Norwalk.

Award-winning executive Chef Carlos Baez has curated the menu, which explores international flavors inspired by street food and casual eats from around the world, according to a statement from the restaurant.

"The Segundo family is happy to announce our grand opening in New Haven. After three solid years of growing our roots in South Norwalk we have decided to bring our talents to our neighbors in New Haven," Chris Hickey, co-owner of El Segundo, said in a statement. "The culinary scene in New Haven is on the move, and we look forward to being part of the next chapter in this exciting and growing city."

Due to the challenges brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic, the opening was delayed to
accommodate all safety protocols and guidelines. The venue will feature outdoor dining, as well as
limited indoor seating at the time of opening.
