Quarter Century Prison Term For Man Who Repeatedly Raped Girl While She Was Under Age 13: Judge
But his 25-year sentence will be suspended after 11 years, followed by 20 years of probation, per the superior court judge's ruling.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Found guilty of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child by a jury in March, Luis Silva, 26, of New Haven was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Maria del Pilar Gonzalez on July 1, New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced.
Silva got 25 years, but the sentence will be suspended after 11 years served, followed by 20 years of probation, Sullivan said.
Sullivan said evidence introduced at trial showed Silva sexually assaulted the victim repeatedly while she was under the age of 13.

The case was investigated by New Haven Police Department Detective Christopher Boyle and SVU Police K-9 Sunny; Detective Samantha Romano; and Sergeant Cherelle Carr of the NHPD Special Victims Unit.
