Robert Parris Convicted In 2019 New Haven Murder Of Michael Rosario

According to trial evidence, Parris, then 53, shot Rosario, 55, in the head on Court Street on a December 2019 afternoon.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The now 56-year-old New Haven man charged in a 2019 slaying was found guilty Wednesday in New Haven Superior Court.

New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced a jury found Robert Parris guilty of the murder of Michael Rosario, 55, in New Haven on Dec. 19, 2019. Parris was also found guilty on three firearm charges.

According to evidence at trial and previous news stories, Parris shot Rosario in the head on Court Street. Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital in critical condition, he later died.

“Our thoughts are with the Rosario family at this time as Michael Rosario’s life should not have ended in such a tragedy," Doyle said. "While his loss is undoubtedly felt deeply by his family, we hope this verdict eases some of their pain.”

Parris will be sentenced April 5.
