Saxophone Leads Marshals To Child Rape Suspect: Report
Officials learned the suspect was in Connecticut and tracked him down due to his part in a local band.
NEW HAVEN, CT — The U.S. Marshals Service tracked down a man wanted for the rape of an 11-year-old Oregon girl thanks to his role as a saxophone player in a local band, according to the service.
Carlos Isai Machi-Ajanal, 36, was arrested on Rosette Street in New Haven Tuesday. He was the suspect in the sexual assault of a 11-year-old family member that occurred in fall 2018, said U.S. Marshals Service Acting Supervisory Deputy Matthew Duffy.
Machic-Ajanal fled the state when he learned the victim's mother contacted police. From time to time he would call the mother and victim from blocked numbers and threaten them, Duffy said.
