SCSU Professor Suspended After Racial Slur Sung In Class

The professor contends he was singing along to a song played by a student in class.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Southern Connecticut State University adjunct was suspended after he was accused of using a racial slur in class.

Public Health instructor Eric Triffin was suspended while the university investigates, according to the New Haven Register.

Triffin, who has been a professor at the school for more than 30 years, told the Register he used a variation of the n-word while singing along to a rap song that was being played in class by a student. One student became upset and yelled at Triffin.
