Sex Offender Operation Nets 13 New Haven Arrests
The joint operation netted 13 arrests for non-compliant sex offenders and individuals wanted for domestic violence charges.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Police and the U.S. Marshals Service worked together to apprehend 13 people wanted for various sex offender and domestic violence crimes, according to police.
One man was wanted in Puerto Rico for the alleged attempted murder of his girlfriend, who was shot during an argument, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
The U.S. Marhsals Service was given primary responsibility to locate and apprehend non-registered and non-compliant sex offenders throughout the country in 2006. They also work with the U.S. Attorney's office for possible federal prosecution for failing to register as a sex offender.
