Sex Offender Operation Nets 13 New Haven Arrests

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Police and the U.S. Marshals Service worked together to apprehend 13 people wanted for various sex offender and domestic violence crimes, according to police.

One man was wanted in Puerto Rico for the alleged attempted murder of his girlfriend, who was shot during an argument, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

The U.S. Marhsals Service was given primary responsibility to locate and apprehend non-registered and non-compliant sex offenders throughout the country in 2006. They also work with the U.S. Attorney's office for possible federal prosecution for failing to register as a sex offender.

The following people were arrested

• Michael BURRUS age 33 Failure to Register
• Fransisco COSME age 59 Failure to Register
• Carlos COTTO age 34 Risk of Injury to Minor & Assault 3rd Degree
• Maurice EURE age 23 Risk of Injury to Minor & Reckless Endangerment
• Bryon HOWELL age 47 Failure to Register
• Phillip MOYE age 38 Violation of Conditional Discharge
• Nathan ROBERTS age 27 Violation Protective Order & Assault 3rd
• William ROGERS 7/27/64 Failure to Register
• Davis ROMAN-VILLANUEVA age 28 Fugitive from Justice
• Jeffrey SMALL 6/5/68 Failure to Register
• Billy STONE age 33 Violation of Probation (sex offender)
