Shootings Saturday Followed By Two Shootings Sunday: New Haven Police

A 20-year-old woman was shot on Goffe Street and minutes later, on Poplar Street in Fair Haven, another person was shot, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Twenty-four hours after two shootings Saturday to the hour, two more shootings on Sunday, with one victim listed in critical condition, police said.

Sunday night at 11 p.m., cops got a Shotspotter alert and calls about gunfire on Goffe Street, between Orchard and Winter streets, spokesperson Scott Shumway said. A 20-year-old New Haven woman struck by gunfire was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Shumway said.

Ten minutes later, across town in Fair Haven, another shooting occurred, police. It was 11:10 p.m. when cops got a 911 call about a person shot on Poplar Street between Pine and Chatham streets. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition, Shumway said.
