The Shops at Yale Celebrates L.L.Bean's Opening

From Yale University Properties: Yale University Properties is hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 1:30pm to welcome L.L.Bean to The Shops at Yale and to New Haven.

The ceremony will take place at 272 Elm Street and is open to the public. Mayor Toni N. Harp will be joining the festivities. Immediately following the ceremony 5 lucky attendees, chosen by raffle, will each receive a free pair of L.L.Bean Boots.Maine-based outdoor retailer L.L.Bean, best known for its L.L.Bean Boots, recently opened its newest retail store in the Broadway Shopping & Dining District at The Shops at Yale in New Haven.

The two-level store features an assortment of active and casual apparel, outerwear and footwear, as well as gear for outdoor enthusiasts. The new store employs approximately 20 people.“New Haven offers outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities, from paddling rivers and streams, to hiking in nearby state parks, to walking through the green,” said Greg Elder, Vice President of Stores at L.L.Bean.

“We’re excited to bring our outdoor expertise to The Shops at Yale, and help everyone in the New Haven area enjoy the outdoors we all share.”L.L.Bean, located at 272 Elm Street, is open 7 days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9:00am - 9:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am - 6:00pm. “We are delighted to welcome L.L.Bean to New Haven,” said Lauren Zucker, Yale University Associate Vice President for New Haven Affairs and University Properties. “Yale University’s community investment program supports the growth of New Haven, bringing jobs to New Haven residents and expanding the city’s tax base”.
