State Board Disciplines Two New Haven Nurses

Two local nurses will have their licenses put on probation, according to a report.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The state Board for Examiners of Nursing has taken disciplinary action against two local nurses, Connecticut Health I-Team reported.

Patricia Fryer's RN license has been placed on probation for four years. Fryer admitted abusing marijuana and cocaine on two occasions. She will be required to undergo random drug tests, attend therapy, and cannot work as a pool nurse, in home health care, or be self-employed during her probation, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.

Kathryn Lovejoy's nursing license was placed on probation for four years. The board ruled that her severe alcohol use disorder along with emotional and substance abuse disorders represented a “clear and immediate danger” to the public health and safety.
