Summer Food Program For New Haven Kids: What Families Need To Know
Free breakfast & lunch available, and not just at schools. Parks, health centers, splash pads, playgrounds & police substations are listed.
NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Public Schools are participating in the federally funded Summer Food Service Program. Under the program, meals are provided free of charge to children 18 years and under.
The Summer Food Service Program, also known as the Summer Meals Program, was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. When school is out, SFSP provides free meals to kids and teens in low-income areas.
See below for the sites that offer meals to all children from a neighborhood. And, to "so-called closed sites," which serve meals on the basis of enrollment.
