Teen Killed In New Haven Hit-And-Run

One teen was killed and another injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday night.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a teen and critically injured another Friday night on the Tomlinson Bridge.

The teens were riding on a scooter when they were hit by the vehicle. Police found the car's front bumper at the scene, said Capt. Anthony Duff, police spokesman.

The 18-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital and the 15-year-old was listed in critical condition.

Passing motorists noticed a damaged vehicle and called 911 to relay its position to officers. Officers stopped and detained the 55-year-old female operator who was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

"Officers confirmed the stopped vehicle and operator were involved in the crash," Duff said.
