Three Shot In Two Separate Shootings In New Haven: PD

Police are investigating if the two shootings are related or not.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating two shooting incidents that left a total of three people injured, one of whom sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to a shooting on Sherman Avenue at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday and found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the hand, said Capt. Anthony Duff, police spokesman.

At 7:21 p.m. police responded to Shelton Avenue after the city's ShotSpotter system detected multiple gunshots. Two gunshot victims were found outside a residence. A 19-year-old man was shot in the ankle.

A 20-year-old man was shot several times in the abdomen and thigh. The injuries are life threatening and he is in critical, but stable condition.

"Investigators have not determined if the two shooting incidents are related," Duff said. "Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven Police Department Detective Bureau at 203-946-6304."
