Tractor-Trailer Strikes Building, 3 Injured: New Haven FD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Three people were injured after a tractor-trailer crashed into a building after a two-vehicle crash late Monday night in New Haven, according to officials.

Crews responded around 11:50 p.m. on the report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car.

The tractor-trailer struck the building at Kimberly Avenue and Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, according to New Haven Fire Chief Daniel T. Coughlin.

Coughlin said three people had minor injuries and the driver of the truck needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

The gas company and United Illuminating responded to the scene to “secure utilities,” according to Coughlin.

Coughlin said the building was “structurally compromised and had to be shored up” by the New Haven Fire Department.
