Last month, Avelo airlines announced it would begin taking applications to fill more than 100 new jobs that will be based at Tweed including airport customer service and operations positions, pilots, flight attendants and a number of manager and supervisor positions. Job descriptions and applications can be found here and here.
Avports plans to hire for positions in airport operations and management, safety supervision, security, and facilities management among others, according to Tweed executive director Sean Scanlon.
Scanlon noted in a news release that job openings stem from the planned $100 million investment at Tweed to extend the runway and "build a new, carbon neutral terminal, allowing for more flights to more destinations and eliminating the need for existing state and city subsidies."
