
NEW HAVEN, CT—Police are investigating after two men were shot near Ferry and State streets Monday evening.
The shooting was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. near the Hess Gas Station, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
A 25-year-old victim was shot in the leg and stomach and was found on the Ferry Street bridge near the station. He was able to talk to officers. He sustained non-life threatening wounds.

The other victim, a 31-year-old man was shot in the back and shoulder. He was rushed to the hospital and was unable to speak to officers. He remains in critical condition Tuesday morning
A silver or grey Chrysler 300M is believed to have been involved, Hartman said. It fled the scene toward Hamden.

Two handguns were recovered. One was found near where the first victim was found and the other where the second victim was found. Police are forensically examining the evidence.
An Acura TSX driven by the second victim was towed as evidence. The victim may have crashed into a van on a bridge as he attempted to leave the scene.
